local context
Little Village residents hardly go into the doctor to get a regular check up. Residents aren't also covered for health insurance. People usually wait till their situation is critical to final get to their doctor and sometimes find themselves transferred at a hospital. A two bill situation. Once they are in debt they try to get covered and when they do, the monthly quota is high and it ends up affecting people in the same pool of insurance since their rates go up higher to cover the new members. Many people are found in the situation that if they would've gone sooner to the doctor they would've been diagnosed, treated, and cured. A common illness of this nature would be cancer, sexual transmitted diseases. & organ failure. Instead of spending money on parks, schools, and libraries money has to be spent on treatment since people in our community cannot pay off their medical bill at the very moment. Someone has to pay the bill at the moment, and who is it? Us.
