REflection
I picked this topic because throughout my junior and senior year I realized how essential it is to have medical treatment, this will prevent many things that are affecting our society till this very day. Many people are in jail because they have not been treated with the disorder they have, many people who are of low income communities must pick between a general check up or to eat. Many families are in debt due to a medical reason. The total hours I spent on my fire project us a good 2 hour each day during school days. As I worked on my project I kept finding out more and more effects that our world has due to medical neglect. I started with one reason why people should have medical care and ended up with 4 more huge reasons. To balance my time out I kept my focus on small goals, a tab or two each day so I could fully complete the fire project. I did not have a partner, I did this individually. My goals for my project was to be able to learn way more than what I already knew and be able to spread that knowledge to my audience but by the time I finished I felt like it was important to also give hope to those who are in this position and do not receive medical help. The risk with this project was the fact that I felt all over the place with the cons of medical health. I went from bankruptcy to high mortality rates to high number of people in jail with medical disorder. Keeping me organized with these topics was a challenge. I’d like my audience to know that there might not be a change tomorrow nor a bill that will grant medical health for all but there are alternatives and help provided for those who are low income and lack medical health. I’d give myself a B because I feel I have learned and grown ever since I started my research on this topic. I have mastered my writing skills but I feel I must work on learning how to cite. I am the most proud of the outcome of my philosophy because it is way more personal than it was when I did my philosophy my junior year. A difficulty I encountered when I was doing my project was being able to access internet and be able to work on my project at home. To solve this problem I went to the library and stayed after school as well. I wish I could change the theme of the display but other than that I am satisfied. My central question did not change it was answered but it made me reflect on the world we live in and how the USA might be advanced and developed but how ironic is it that its citizens have the highest preventable mortality rates. PBS helped me a lot on my research and so did Ms.Hogan’s proof editing. The advice I’d give students would be to finish their project before they go to prom.
